? Great black gospel music Channel ? With voices joined in harmony, we proclaim His glory, for He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Let every note, every word, every breath be a testament to His greatness and majesty. In the heart of the gospel, I find my home, a sanctuary of hope and joy. And as I journey on, I will continue to sing His praises, for He alone is worthy of all honor and praise. If this has blessed you, please comment and let me know so I will know that it did someone some good. Please support the artists when you are able. God Bless! Jesus loves you more than you will ever know. If you have not given your life to Him and are interested in learning about salvation so that you can be with Him and your loved ones in heaven, just let me know and we can talk about it.
The beginning purpose of the hymns in this playlist was for folks to learn to harmonize better and familiarize themselves with hymns they may have never heard. As time has gone on, I've realized that there is also a need for many old hymns to be preserved in a way that folks in the future can learn them. I strive to record all of these hymns as they were originally written and then mix the recordings so that you can hear all the parts fairly equally. As this process continues, I will polish my recording and singing techniques so that these hymns will better serve your purpose, whether that be learning a harmony part (as I had originally intended), or listening for enjoyment. The tradition of singing hymns in four-part harmony is one that I have grown up with in the churches of Christ. It was sitting next to my dad for years that led me to be interested in singing bass and once my ear had developed for that, I begged him to sing the tenor parts so that I could copy his every note. You really don't have to know a lick of music to sing parts. Just try to develop your ear for whatever part best fits your vocal range and then follow the ups and downs of the music notes. For men, I really recommend learning bass first as that is the foundation of all of the written chords. Then go to tenor later if you have a voice for it. For women, I'd suggest that you learn the soprano parts first. Yes, you probably already know them because that's what most women sing. It's the melody of most songs after all! But what I really suggest is starting to watch the notes as you sing. Look how they go up and down with the pitches that you sing. When you feel good about the note movement, start trying to learn alto. It's a very fun part and is also usually challenging. A tip to learning parts: Have someone with a good ear sit next to you while listening and have them sing whatever part you are trying to learn. I promise this will work for you as long as you can carry a tune in a bucket! ( : To my knowledge, most of the hymns that I post here are public domain. If you find one that is copyrighted, let me know and I will take it down as soon as possible. If I do post a copyrighted one, there should be copyright permission information in the video description. Please let me know if you have suggestions or requests.
